Parish Groups / Ministry Teams
St. Peter's Church has a number of parish groups and ministry teams. You are welcome to get involved with any of the following - Please feel free to contact the church office for more information.
Abbeyfield St. Peter’s
Is a special seniors’ housing project built by this parish on adjoining property. Abbeyfield is a seperate organization, but maintains a connection with the parish and remains a focus of parish volunteer efforts for activities, outings, visitations, and board membership. www.abbeyfield.ca or please contact the church office.
Alpha
St. Peter's is not currently running an Alpha program, but we have run many groups. If you are interested in the Alpha Programme - please contact the church office to see when the next session will be.
Altar Guild
Participate in the vital work of setting up the sanctuary for services. Assistance is welcome for both the Weekday and Weekend services. Parishioners may sign up to donate flowers in memoriam or in special celebration or thanksgiving, by signing up on the flower list on the wall in the narthex.
Bible Studies
Currently being held on Wednesdays after the 10am Eucharist service. Please contact the church office for more information.
Buildings and Grounds
Responsible for: the maintenance of all buildings, the care of Our Church property. Also seeing to any improvements or Developments in our Church building. Contact John Miles through the church office for more information.
Baptism & Confirmation
For adults and youth, please speak with the clergy through the church office for more details.
Church School & Nursery
Church School and nursery is held every Sunday for all ages (infant through teens). Sunday School welcomes new children and adults interested in teaching or assisting. Sunday School - runs every Sunday at 10:30 am. All children are welcome to attend. Contact the church office for more information.
Choir / Worship and Music Education
Responsible for seeking ways to ensure that worship services meet the needs of a broad range of people within the parish. Practices are held weekly please contact our music director. Contact David Watson through the church office for more information.
Crafters
Gather on weekdays for fellowship and creation of handicrafts. Contact the Crafters through the church office for more information.
Finance Committee
Responsible for budget preparation, fiscal policy development, and accounting of Parish financial resources. Co-ordinates, with Diocesan Synod office on the fiscal health of the Parish.
Jr. Youth Ministry
Youth Ministry aimed at 11-14 year olds. They meet weekly to bi-weekly usually on Sundays. Please contact the office for more information.
G-Force - Youth Ministry
Youth Ministry aimed at 14 - 17 year olds. They meet weekly on Thursday nights. For more information please contact the office.
Mission and Outreach
Responsible for assisting those in our community and throughout the World, who are in need and support. Informs and promotes designated outreach programs for on-going parish support. For more information, see the Outreach page.
Men’s Fellowship
Men of the parish meet with men from St. Michael's and St. David's once a month for breakfast, sometimes with a guest speaker, but always with fellowship, and lively discussion. Contact the office for more information!
Prayer Ministry
If you would like personal prayer for yourself, a family member or friend, or if you would like to offer special thanksgivings, opportunity abounds:
Sunday morning Healing Ministers available before, during and after a Eucharist, or following Morning Prayer Service at side altar. Look for those with blue ribbon in their name tags if you wish a private opportunity.
Prayer chain: Contact the church office to add the name of one ill or in need of prayer. (For continuation or to update requests, requests must be made mid-month). Also an Intercessory Prayer List for those in need of Prayer in Narthex.
Senior's Ministry
Senior's Ministry is a team of people that plan and host events that support Senior's in the parish and the broader community. This team also host events that incorporate the Senior's lunchon on the first Wednesday of every month, and various social gatherings through the year. Please contact the church office for more information on upcoming events and programs.
Stewardship
The Stewardship committee is responsible for the promotion and co-ordination of stewardship activities in the Parish. Functional responsibilities include the initiation and promotion of new, planned and on-going stewardship programs that ensure good utilization of parish resources, while being considerate of our environment.
